About Coastland Cattle

About the Owner
Coastland Cattle is owned and operated by Kurt Mizee, who grew up rooted in Tillabay Farms, a working dairy in Tillamook. That background shaped a hands-on approach to farming and a long-term view of how the land should be cared for.
Over time, that perspective led to a shift—moving away from dairy and toward raising beef in a way that felt more intentional and aligned with those values.
Our Story
Coastland Cattle began as Tillabay Farms, with deep ties to the dairy traditions of this area. Today, the farm is transitioning toward beef, raising cattle on our own pastures.
We use regenerative practices that prioritize soil health, clean forage, and low-stress animals. The land is managed without pesticides, with a focus on improving it year over year rather than depleting it.
This transition has been gradual, allowing us to be thoughtful in how we raise our animals and care for the land.
At the core of it, this is about food. We believe clean, well-raised food matters—for the people eating it and for the land it comes from.
